Dear Sir,

It was rewarding to read (with my jaundiced eyes) the letter to you from Mr. Commissiong of January 15, 2002.

This confirms to your readers, that The Royal Gazette does indeed provide a forum for an alternative viewpoint, just as I indicated in my letter referred to by the writer.

All that remains is for the reader to make his or her decisions, based on the information provided.

While I have no intentions of indulging in a 'he said she said' scenario, may I point out that unless one is a gifted clairvoyant it is difficult to ascertain how anyone can have knowledge of any criminal acts by my forefathers, any more than they can accuse me of leaving footprints on the moon. For example I was never there, nor can you have any idea of my personal pain or struggles. You have also no monopoly on either.

I prefer intellectual rather than emotional persuasion in any commentary. I to have an extreme dislike of going down memory road on past misdeeds, so if you agree not to do so, I will herewith give you my word to do likewise. I will assume you have an honest desire to do good, as indeed do I.

I perceive our major difference being that what you see as racial problems, I see as human problems.

When we transcend our intellectual adolescence, we tend to seethe world's broader landscape, as I indeed also had problems in my youth and hopefully am making progress in embracing all of humanity For example, "Each mans misfortune diminishes me for I am part of mankind".

That is about as hysterical and desperate as I can muster for the time being. And believe in or not I do admire your mental energy and your enthusiasm.
