Dear Sir,

I feel compelled to address the comments of the Honourable David Allen regarding the Reefs Hotel.

At a time when we should be doing our utmost in an attempt to be supportive to what should be a united cause, it is unacceptable for Mr. Allen in his position to make such a negative and untrue statement about this fine hotel.

The negative implications to the staff, the future guest and the many return guests that may plan to stay at the Reefs, are not desirable and are certainly not going to aid our cause.

The Reefs is a Bermudian owned hotel, one of great stature and profile.

Mr. Dodwell and the Reefs management have worked diligently, and spent money effectively to upgrade and make their hotel attractive and competitive in the world small resort market.

I would think that they deserve to be encouraged by our Government, not ridiculed.
