Thank you poppy buyers
November 28, 2001
Dear Sir,
The Bermuda War Veterans Association is very pleased to announce that the November 9, 2001 street collection for the sale of poppies netted the sum of $14,289.50.
The postal appeal for funds, meanwhile, continues to produce a gratifying response.
Very sincere thanks are expressed to the donors, sellers and money counters.
It was great to have such a large number of willing volunteers resulting in a collection even greater than last year.
Our gratitude to the Cathedral for the use of the Cathedral Hall, also to British Airways for transporting poppies.
The demand on the poppy fund, particularly for pensions, will absorb all foreseeable money collected in 2001.
Once again, thank you Bermuda for your generosity.
RON BARTON
Secretary
Bermuda War Veterans Association
