Thinking about your future career? Why not visit the fair?
If there?s one event you shouldn?t miss this year, it?s the Careers 2005 Fair at the Bermuda College tomorrow.
With more than 80 vendors and booths, a line-up of international speakers, motivational lectures, demonstrations and networking opportunities, this fair is for students who have big dreams for careers and parents who are looking to get their children connected.
The one-day fair starts at 10.45 a.m. and will be open until 7 p.m. A full schedule, with inspirational international speakers, interactive demonstrations and vendors will ensure every student understands the importance of sound career planning and higher education.
International speakers include Neal Peterson, who was born in Cape Town, South Africa and went on to become an international sportsman and the first black person to race solo around the globe. He will give a short presentation at 11.15 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5.45 p.m.
If you enjoyed the movie ?Cool Runnings? you will have the opportunity to hear one of its real-life team members, Devon Harris speak at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Jamaican bob-sled team member Mr. Harris was born in the slums of Kingston, but went on to represent his country in the Olympics in this unlikely event.
If you?ve ever wondered what ?action painting? is why not pop around to the auditorium at 12.15 p.m. and watch Jean Francois Dudek who removes painting from the realms of studios and galleries and transforms it into high-energy entertainment that is both artistic and inspirational.
Repeat performances will take place at 4 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
The Bermuda College?s Technology department will be open, showcasing its new trade opportunities now available for students, while the playing field will have many interesting and interactive demonstrations all day.
Students from all Government senior middle school classes, CedarBridge, Berkeley and all private Senior Schools have been invited to attend.
By attending Careers 2005, you could also be eligible to win great prizes including a motorcycle, iPod, cellular telephones, one of two laptops and much more.
