Kenny?s memorable help
October 7, 2006
Dear Sir,
Subject: Mr. Kenny Ford ? Bermuda Goodwill Ambassador. My wife and I recently had another (the 13th or 14th) wonderful visit to Bermuda. Each visit has been pleasant and memorable, but on this trip we had a special experience that I feel compelled to share.
We played golf at the Ocean View Golf course and had occasion to meet and converse briefly with Mr. Kenny Ford and his cousin while playing golf. After we finished playing our round (we enjoyed the Ocean View course very much), we retired to the club lounge to watch golf on TV, have a drink and arrange for a taxi to our hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised to find Mr. Ford and his friends in the lounge and to find out that he was a taxi driver and would take us to our hotel when we were ready to leave. We were enjoying our socialising (nearly all the patrons were Bermudians) and Mr. Ford insisted on treating us to another drink while we talked.
When we left with Mr. Ford in his taxi, we had an enjoyable chat with him on the way to the hotel and in the process learning much about Bermuda and Bermudians. When we got to our hotel, Mr. Ford refused payment saying the route was on is way home anyway.
We find nearly all Bermudians friendly and hospitable when we visit. However, Mr. Ford?s courtesy and hospitality were an exceptional and memorable experience for us. So, we nominate Mr. Kenny Ford for Bermuda Goodwill Ambassador.
Bermuda?s a great place
October 5, 2006
Dear Sir,
Last month we spent a glorious week on the beautiful Island of Bermuda, along with our daughter Donna, visiting her husband Tim Doyle who has been working in Bermuda the past eight months for Otis Elevator and living in Cedar Hill. On Sunday, September 17, we rented a scooter to explore the Island. We ended the day at Country Squire Inn, Somerset for dinner. While waiting to order dinner, my husband Jack just passed out on the table. We were scared to death of the outcome.
Due to the quick response of a patron, who just happened to be a nurse, the staff and other patrons, the Police, EMTs and Ambulance all arrived quickly and they all took great care of him. Thank God it was nothing serious and he is just fine. We want to formally thank Jennifer Gallo of Sandys. Nurses truly are angels in disguise. Thank you Jennifer for your quick, professional response and for being there for us. You are an Angel.
We want to formally thank the police officers, EMTs and the Ambulance Service personal for their quick response and the great care and concern they gave my husband. We want to formally thank the owner, staff and patrons of Country Squire Inn for all their help and support that day. After all the turmoil was over, we did stay and had a great dinner. Thanks for the beverages.
We want to thank all Bermuda bus drivers for their friendly, courteous and helpful services. It was truly a hair raising experience. Our thanks also to all Bermudians for being so friendly, courteous and helpful to us during our week long stay. We?ll be back!
A heartfelt thanks also to Otis Elevator guys Tom and Darrell for the joy ride airport service. Last but not least, most of all we want to publicly thank our Son-in-Law Tim Doyle and his lovely wife, our daughter Donna, for all their love, support and concern during our ordeal. We love you very much.
Thank you Tim for sharing your home with us for a week, cooking us meals and sharing all your Island experiences with us. Thank you Donna for being there with us, being a great tour guide, making sure we saw all of the Islands best. Can?t wait to visit Bermuda again and hope it will be as soon as possible. What a great place on earth.
