Dear Sir,

I read with great interest your piece on bringing gambling to Bermuda.

I must tell you up front that I am one of the annual visitors that relishes the laid back, quaint style that Bermuda offers. Having said that, I have a few issues that need clarification.

First, aren't KPMG and Mr. Lyall Hall paid handsomely for the oversight of casino development? To be more straightforward, what's in it for them? It seems to me that Mr. Hall stands to profit nicely from his prediction.

Secondly, what will be the effect on the Bermudian lifestyle regarding both the residents and the visitors to the Island? Specifically, what will become of the small accommodation properties and cottage colonies? It seems to me that it is inevitable these properties will be swallowed up by the all-inclusive mega-hotels. Mr. Hall suggests such development will provide untold riches, but at what cost? Please consider the effects on your island more carefully.

Please ask KPMG "What's in it for them"?

If I want gambling, I'll go to Foxwoods.
