The recent national election in the United States has shown the world that all races can unite to win an election.

With the majority of the population of the US being white it was a great achievement that Barack Obama, who is of mixed race, won.

It would be to Bermuda's great advantage to follow the lead provided by the US and therefore in future the electorate should not vote blindly by race, but to vote for the political party that it considers to be most capable of governing our Island.

Only then will our country be assured of a successful future.

The world owes the President Elect a great debt of gratitude for showing it what can be achieved without race being of paramount consideration.
