Two wrongs

Exactly how long does the "well, the United Bermuda Party did/didn't do it, so it's OK for the Progressive Labour Party to do/not do it" rationalisation hold water for?

That's the question that the recent imbroglio over Dr. Ewart Brown begs.

Dr. Brown, the Transport Minister, tried to get access to the closed part of the Airport without following the standard procedures. When he was refused, he launched into a "do you know who I am—I will do what I want" debate, and more recently, he complained that:

1. The UBP Ministers of Transport did the same thing; and

2. Civil servants don't give PLP Ministers the same respect they gave the UBP.

Bermuda has now had a PLP government for a little over three and a half years, and beating the UBP as a matter of policy should no longer wash because two wrongs don't make a right.
