Oleander drops by
The Oleander was carrying more than 150 containers when it arrived in Bermuda from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Monday.
Of these, 118 were dry containers, and 33 refrigerated containers. The vessel also had three flatbeds on board, as well as a boat on a cradle and a utility board.
It sailed from Bermuda at 8.05 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Somers Isle> is expected from Fernandina Beach, Florida, today, carrying 135 containers, of which four are refrigerated.
The Bermuda Island$> is expected from New Jersey on Friday, carrying 130 containers, of which 23 are refrigerated.
The fast ferry Warbaby F<$>encountered a large wave as she was about to round St. Catherine’s point in the strong gales on Monday morning.
The wave damaged a window and the vessel, which had five crew on board, reported taking on water.
Pilot boat St. Gee<$> was asked to stand by in the area to ensure the safe arrival of the ferry into St. George’s Harbour.
Although the vessel made it alongside safely at Ship’s Wharf St. David’s, the remainder of the day’s schedule had to be cancelled while repairs were carried out.
