Delivering good service October 26, 2000
I have just read the October 26th, 2000 edition `Letters to the Editor' and was a little surprised at what `A Local, Devonshire' had to say about the two ladies at Trimingham's Gifts in St. George's.
I must beg to differ about this person's complaint. On Saturday October 21, I walked in Trimingham's Gift store for the first time and was warmly greeted by a Mrs. Foggo. I inquired about whether a package arrived from the Hamilton office to her branch store. The package was not there. Mrs. Foggo then called the Hamilton store and spoke to several people on several extensions trying to find out the whereabouts of my package. In the end, we were expecting it on a Tuesday delivery. Mrs. Foggo asked me to come back on Tuesday and apologised on behalf of Trimingham's for the mix-up.
On Tuesday October 24, 2000, I returned to the store accompanied by two friends and once again was warmly greeted by Mrs. Foggo and another storekeeper. To make a long story short, the package had not yet arrived and Mrs. Foggo once again made desperate attempts to contact someone in the city branch or the warehouse. She told me to give her my number and once she sorts it out, she'll ring me. Once outside the store, my friends and I commented on how helpful she was and of course I shared my story about Saturday with them.
When I returned to my desk, there was a message on my machine. It was Mrs.
Foggo, calling to say that my package had arrived at the St. George's branch store.
I commend Mrs. Foggo on her pleasant attitude and her continuous attempts to find out the whereabouts of my package. I also command Trimmingham Stores for selecting such good, helpful and patient staff.
