A story in yesterday's newspaper on the opening to the public of the Public Accounts Committee stated that an early draft of proposed rules for the House of Assembly written by Dame Jennifer Smith and Opposition MP John Barritt would have kept parliamentary committees closed. The story failed to make it clear that Mr. Barritt opposed that item and has been a longstanding proponent of opening up committees to the public.
