For the Record
• An article in yesterday's newspaper reported that there was disagreement over the number of votes cast for some candidates at Monday's Corporation of Hamilton by-election and that returning officer John Cooper said there was no need for a recount as it was clear who the winning candidates were.
Mr. Cooper has asked us to add that candidate John Harvey, who was not present when the results were announced, was contacted by telephone by another candidate and asked if he wished for a recount. Mr. Harvey did not.
He lost out on a common councillor seat after polling 106 votes. Anne Kast received either 108 or 109 votes.
• A caption in Saturday's newspaper incorrectly identified Marion DeJean as Marion Francis. It also incorrectly stated that sisters-in-law Carol and Georgine Hill were sisters.
