A story in yesterday's newspaper on MP Louise Jackson and her Pembroke South Central constituency stated that Mrs. Jackson's opponent in the 2007 general election, Laverne Furbert, had stated several weeks before that vote that she regretted running in the constituency. What Mrs. Furbert said at a candidates meeting was: "I'm very sorry that I made that decision (to run) because (of) the lies I hear on talk radio." As a parliamentary candidate she was unable to respond on talk radio to the statements.
