What 'unseen forces?'
Dear Sir,
Charles Richardson's comments in today's Royal Gazette likening Nelson Bascome's case to "a political witch-hunt" only serve to reinforce suspicions that the present Government and their devotees will do and say almost anything to advance their cause; regardless of the veracity of the claim. It would be helpful if Mr. Richardson could elaborate further on what he describes as "forces that are yet unseen" or does he already know that no such forces exists and is simply grandstanding for sound bites?
However, if we give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps Mr. Richardson could instead canvass his MP, the Premier and other friends and associates occupying the corridors of power and encourage them to update the law books together with public access to information legislation to implement a modern-day legal framework so these "forces that are yet unseen" can in fact be revealed in the light of day using 21st century rule of law?

Southlands for Premier
Dear Sir,
Given the current dilemma regarding the parking for the Consulate office etc., why doesn't the Government just sell the Premier's official residence to the American Government to be used as a residence for the American Consul and use the main house at Southlands (a beautiful stately old Bermuda home and a gorgeous property already owned by the Bermuda Government) as the official Premier's residence?
The money from the sale could be used to upgrade the property to the standard required, the surrounding parkland could be a showpiece for all Bermudians to enjoy and feel pride in, and what a great place to live!

Run away runway job
Dear Sir,
In the beginning of the year we were told that the Airport runway "will be done" by the end of June/July. We are now in September (tomorrow will be October) and it still is not done.
They have everything they need, the weather isn't bad (no rain, wind etc..), they surely have enough men working on it, so there's no way they shouldn't be finished three months after the due date.
Myself as well as many others are curious to know what's taking so long. The majority of the time you go across there the men are having a good old chat. That includes during the day when their getting paid to work too.
No one has even giving the public a reason for this. In fact it hasn't been spoken about since they said when it'll be done.
