Reply to CableVision
May 26, 2010
Dear Sir,
I noticed an alert from CableVision as I turned on my cable box tonight. I have included it for your reference along with my response:
Message from CableVision:
A major cable network satellite feeding our island is falling out of orbit which may cause temporary interruptions as they switch to a more reliable satellite over the next couple of weeks. Channels may be affected at different times with outages up to an hour. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this transition, which is outside of our control.
Dear CableVision:
A major competitor has forced my employer out of business which has caused a temporary interruption in my source of income as I switch to a more reliable employer over the next couple of months. My ability to pay may be affected at different times with non-payment for up to several weeks. I apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this transition, which is outside of my control.

Do better, St. George's
May 25, 2010
Dear Sir,
We have read recently that St. George is dead and the Mayor is trying very hard to revive the old town. It will take a lot of work on behalf of the restaurants and shops to do this.
Last Friday we went with three other couples to a well-known tavern in St. George for dinner. We sat for over an hour before we were served and finally got our meal because we went and enquired how much longer it was going to be. The manager has a reputation for being rude so we seldom go there even though the food is very good. The waiter was also very abrupt.
On Saturday night, we drove to Hamilton and took the ferry to Dockyard. It was a very pleasant journey, taking only 20 minutes and we went to a well-known pub there and what a difference in service. We had a very good meal served by courteous staff in a matter of about ten minutes. We will certainly go back there again.
So St. George's, take note. If you want business you need to give better service.

No more droopy drawers
Dear Mr. Editor,
Thank you AG for speaking on behalf of most of the "normal" people in Bermuda and the world. These low hanging pants are not attractive! If some guy thinks he is attracting women or that he thinks he looks cool – boy, is he ever wrong! I cant stand to look at any of these young men wearing this fashion today – it's disgusting! My friends feel the same way. Who wants to look at someone's hairy butt or crack or even their underwear?
Get wise young men...you may think you look cool but the whole world is laughing at you in that get up. Dress like a man in proper fitting pants and that's when you will get noticed by women. In the meantime keep those "ugly droopy drawers" out of our eyesight – it's not a pretty sight to look at!
However, I do find myself when I see someone dressed in those "ugly droopy drawers" having an uncontrollable urge to yank them down and humiliate you for wearing them. Maybe we can embarrass you enough not to wear them! And one more thing wearing your hat sideways is not cool! It does not make your look cool more like stupid – just like sitting on your bike riding sideways looks stupid and in the case of riding the bike sitting sideways that is NOT COOL, that is dangerous.
Speaking of dangerous – another thing that young men seem to think is cool is to drag their foot while riding their bike. Again not cool, no way! All you will get from thinking that that looks cool is the possibility of loosing your foot in a bike accident.
I wonder if anyone looks in the mirror before they go out everyday. Maybe if they really took a good look they'd realise they are not in fashion but making themselves a laughing stock of everyone that sees them.
Sign me,
DROOPY DRAWERS ARE NOT COOL!
