A true ambassador
April 22, 2010.
Dear Sir,
On Tuesday April 20, 2010 at about 2.30 p.m., I boarded a bus in Hamilton which was going to Ord Road in Paget. The bus operator was Mr. M.A. Anderson.
A little later on we arrived at the Stonington bus stop in Paget. At this point a group of visitors proceeded to board. The first person, a lady, asked Mr. Anderson for particular directions to where they were going. Mr. A. very politely stated that they needed to board another bus that would soon follow and quoted a numb er. After moving forward about eight to ten feet Mr. A. stopped the bus, reversed position, gently tooted his horn and caught the lady's attention and offered her additional information to ensure that they would not miss or bypass their intended stop. She expressed her gratitude for his kindness and help.
When I left the b us I told Mr. Anderson that he was an ambassador for Bermuda and thank him.
I have no doubt that those visitors were highly impressed regarding his special attention. Certainly, this is the type of conduct that makes our visitors feel welcomed and appreciated for choosing Bermuda as their vacation destination. We were once known everywhere as the nicest and friendliest people in the world. Mr. Anderson, you are one of those people!
