Dear Sir,

Could you please include the following letter in your "Letters to the Editor" page? Our Hospital gets its share of negative publicity and we would like to give praise where it is due.

On September 13, my husband spent some four hours at the Emergency Department of KEMH. During that time, the Doctor on duty (Dr. M. Malik) and the nursing staff treated him with the highest standards of compassion and professionalism.

Unfortunately, the next evening it was my turn to visit the Emergency Department, having been transported there by a very efficient and kind ambulance crew. Over the next 12 hours in the Emergency Department, in what was a very stressful time for my husband and me, the Duty Doctor (a lady whose name I was unable to see, due to visual impairment), the nursing staff, and CAT Scan technician all did their best to make me comfortable and reassure my husband.

The Emergency Department Director and personnel are to be commended in maintaining such high standards on a busy weekend, in an aging facility in need of an upgrade.
