Bermuda Christmas Boat Parade is the 400th Anniversary's Official Bermuda 2009 Closing Ceremony. The Bermuda Christmas Boat parade, a feature for over 10 years, will be the exciting finale of Bermuda's yearlong celebration to commemorating the 400-year history. The Ace Gallery, Ace Building, 17 Woodbourne Avenue, Hamilton Employee art exhibition 'Vacations and Staycations' is on until December 16. Exhibition features 36 works of art all created by Ace employees and their families. The works in the exhibition include painting, crayon, and pastel, rip art, collage, pencil drawing and photography and provide a colourful and exciting depiction of the summer holidays. Opening on December 17. "Behind the Mask" by artist Wayne (Tony) DeSilva.
Ace Building Lobby: Alfred Birdsey An exhibition of paintings by Alfred Birdsey from the Collection of E. Michael Jones is on until December 31. As one of Bermuda's most celebrated artists, Alfred Birdsey stood alone for most of the second half of the 20th century as the only modernist painter working in Bermuda. Entirely self-taught, it is believed he started painting in 1927 at the age of 16. This exhibition of paintings is selected from the extensive collection of E. Michael Jones, one of Birdsey's major collectors. The paintings, all from the 1970s and 80s, span a period when Birdsey created his most accomplished works. The gallery is open to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. except by appointment. Groups should call for an appointment 295-5200.

(2) From the Fay and Geoffrey Elliott Collection: 'U-505 Captured', an exhibit telling the remarkable story of the capture off western Africa and the hiding in Bermuda of the submarine U-505.
