US consulate is keen to play role in 2009 Tall Ships event

The American Consulate is keen to play its part in the Tall Ship Atlantic Challenge 2009.US Consul General Gregory Slayton has met up with organisers of Tall Ships Bermuda regarding preparations, with US Coast Guard Cutter <I>Eagle</I> one of the participating ships in the June event.

US Consul General Gregory Slayton has met up with organisers of Tall Ships Bermuda regarding preparations, with US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle one of the participating ships in the June event.
About 26 tall ships will grace Bermuda's harbour for several days to help celebrate the Island's 400th anniversary.
Mr. Slayton said in a press statement: "Having these magnificent tall ships in Bermuda is a rare and spectacular treat. This is a great opportunity for all of us to experience the majesty of sailing ships, including the USCG Eagle and Bermuda's own Spirit of Bermuda."
