Get your house in order

Dear Sir,

For the first time in 20 years, I am planning a trip, and it does not have Bermuda as its destination. Reading The Royal Gazette online for the past few years has left me watching an island paradise going down the tubes. I will miss the older generation of Bermudians who are great stewards of your island and display friendliness and courtesy. I will not miss, however, the animals that roam your roads on cycles, devoid of the rule of law. I will not miss the chance to be involved in a daytime shooting incident like is so often reported in your paper. Also, the chance of a home invasion is not on the top of my list for vacation fun. I will not return, and neither will my friends and family, until you get your house in order. Farewell Bermuda, I knew you when …
