Install speed traps

Dear Sir,

It still amazes me that every time I read your paper it usually involves a cyclist's death or serious accident.

In the USA I live on an island similar in length to Bermuda. One of our "parishes" decided that speeding and reckless driving and deaths would no longer be tolerated.

Having similar traffic routes as Bermuda, this parish set up consistent and long lived "speed traps" and issued many citations over a long period of time costing drivers many dollars.

The effect was remarkable and enduring, less death and motorists obeying the limits !

Why has Bermuda not taken this easy and effective course ? It really makes no sense at all.
