Yangzijiang Ship shares rise on $514.4m in contracts

(Bloomberg) — Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings Ltd. rose the most in almost a month in Singapore trading after the Chinese shipbuilder said it secured contracts in April and May to build 12 vessels worth a total $514.4 million.

Yangzijiang rose 1.5 Singapore cents, or 1.6 percent, to 98 cents as of 9:09 a.m., its biggest gain since May 6, making the stock the best performer on the 30-member Straits Times Index. Yangzijiang has fallen 51 percent this year, compared with the 8.8 percent drop in the benchmark index.

Yangzijiang has won contracts from January to May to build 14 vessels worth $582 million, the company said in a statement to the Singapore stock exchange.
