November 19, 2012Dear Sir,I ask all that will be going to the polls on December 17 to cast their votes to first consider the following:OBA1. New political party with a lot of talent and experienced people2. Good platform but yet to prove themselves.3. Could be looked at as a white-based political party but a look at the candidates says that it’s mixed skin tone4. They have yet to prove themselves so they don’t have the political history as the Progressive Labour Party5. One thing for sure the One Bermuda Alliance can’t be blamed for (a lot of) the problems in Bermuda today because they have never been in GovernmentPLP1. Not the nicest people, power has changed them2. They don’t like to admit when they are wrong3. Big money spenders4. Lacked the vision for a rainy day — which is now5. Declining overseas company footprint in Bermuda — less money.6. Wasted millions of dollars since 19987. Lack any true strategy to deal with crime thus it’s to the point where murders are common in Bermuda8. Though lack of financial control and vision we now have a, billion dollar plus national debt, and it’s climbing9. The education system has only improved ten percent, if that, since 199810. A failed tourism plan has done nothing to boost ant real visitors growth11. 2,500 plus people unemployed — the PLP truly lacked the vision to see this coming and when then experts told them they refused to listen.12. The new destruction of the Town of St George’s — which includes the nearby golf club that was knocked down13. Failure to widen the St George’s Cut Channel to make way for a larger cruise ship so that the town’s economy can be where it was in the 80s and early 90s.RAYMOND RAYSt George’s
