Bermuda-based OneBeacon Insurance Group Ltd. announced that its US headquarters has relocated to Canton, Massachusetts. The 280,000 square-foot facility brings together over 1,000 employees who formerly worked in three distinct Greater Boston locations.

OneBeacon's Canton office houses all corporate functions as well as front-line operations for its local commercial lines, personal lines, and certain specialty businesses.

Chief executive officer Mike Miller said: "Not only will we benefit from the efficiencies of a common location, but we expect our employees will enjoy more varied careers due to the many opportunities available under one roof."

The move to Canton began in December 2006 and was concluded last month. Canton is located 17 miles southwest of Boston, site of the company's former US headquarters.
