Former BAS-Serco chief executive officer Richard Savard has been appointed chief operating officer for the entire BAS Group of Companies as one of a number of internal promotions and appointments announced by the BAS Group.

The changes come just over a month after Bermuda Aviation Services merged with the CCS Group, expanding the BAS Group of companies to seven — the other six companies being Aircraft Services Bermuda, BAS-Serco, Crow Lane Bakery, International Bonded Couriers, Weir Enterprises and Otis Bermuda.

New COO for the group, Mr. Savard was previously CEO and vice president of BAS-SERCO, a position he held since 2001. He also operated as manger of air traffic services and air operations services project manager with SERCO.

He has 26 years experience as an air traffic control officer in the Canadian Armed Forces before retiring in January 1992 with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

Mr. Savard currently serves on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce and The St. George’s Foundation and is a member of St. George’s Rotary Club.

Frank Williams will take over Mr. Savard’s previous position as vice president & CEO of BAS-Serco. He has worked for the company since 2002, originally as facilities manager. He was subsequently promoted to the position of vice president business development & operations, where he was responsible for developing new business, and for the management of BAS-Serco facilities contracts with Butterfield Bank, the Argus Group, and Corner Development.

The BAS group’s new head of finance is>Raymond Packwood who has been BAS head of finance since 2000. During his time with the company has has also assumed operational responsibilities for Aircraft Services Bermuda Ltd. and Crow Lane Bakery Ltd.

Following the recent expansion of the BAS group he agreed to relinquish these responsibilities and focus on the company’s financial matters. Before joining BAS he was employed at Pricewaterhousecoopers in Bermuda and in Washington DC.

Jamie Sapsfo$> is promoted to vice president, aviation & corporate assurance. He has been employed by BAS-Serco since 1995 when the Department of Airport Operations first contracted out the aviation services contract at the airport.

Initially employed as an air traffic controller, Mr. Sapsford has managed the air traffic control department since 2001 and retains his position as director of corporate assurance, which he has held since February, 2005.Bermuda-based technology services consulting company Independent Consulting Soluti<$>, has appointed chief operations officer Steve l<$> as a director of the board.

Mr. Bull has been with ICS since 1999, joining the company as a consultant, progressing to senior consultant and eventually COO in 2004.

Previously he worked as a senior engineer with MicroAge in Canada. He has a degree in Biochemistry from the prestigious Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and is certified as both a Novell and Microsoft engineer, and Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator.
