BSX hits record in $31.5m week

Shares worth $31,555,757 were traded on a record-breaking week for the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange.

The index hit an all-time record high on Tuesday and then surpassed that mark on Wednesday to reach 5,188.66.

The Wednesday trading was marked by a 470,000 share buy back by Butterfield Bank and a crossing transaction of 100,000 shares in LOM Holdings.

The Index ended the week slightly off the record high at 5,154.60.

All together a total of 648,159 shares were traded during the week, which saw the Index rise a total of 25.57 points (0.5 percent).

Butterfield Bank shares rose a total of 75 cents (1.27 percent) on the week to close at a 52-week high of $60, while LOM Holdings were 25 cents (7.69 percent) higher, also at a year-high of $3.50.

Argus shares ended the week lower by 50 cents (3.23 percent) at $15.
