DeCouto joins Greymane from BCM

Alex DeCouto, current president of the Construction Association of Bermuda, has joined Greymane Contracting as commercial manager. He left his previous employment at BCM McAlpine, where he has worked for eight years, last Friday.

"I am greatly looking forward to joining the fantastic team of professionals at Greymane," said Mr. DeCouto.

"The company has positioned itself as a leader in management and procurement systems technology, and the prospect of helping them affirm their position as a major player in the delivery of construction services on the island, proved to be an exciting proposition. I hope to quickly repay the vote of confidence I have been given."

He has more than 10 years' experience in the construction industry, having worked his way up from labourer through to project manager. Mr. DeCouto has been a board member of the CAOB for the past five years, is a professional quantity surveyor and has an MBA from the College of Estate Management in the UK. He intends to continue in his role as CAOB president.

Of his time at BCM McAlpine, he said: "I have worked at BCM McAlpine for eight years. They have been great to work with, have encouraged my development and given me the opportunity to be involved in some fantastic projects over the years. I am extremely grateful to Alan Burland and the executive at BCM McAlpine, and in particular Tim Berry, for their guidance and mentorship.

"The opportunity at Greymane was just too good to pass up. Tomas Smith and his general manager Paul Jardine have built a solid organisation, utilising some exciting cutting edge management systems technologies, and have built a reputation as a quality construction company. I will relish the chance to participate at an executive level, and contribute to their very bright future."
