Glass-bottom boat operator Reef Explorer Ltd. is continuing to run trips from Hamilton with its 68ft boat Reef Explorer unaffected by the suspension of business by Bermuda Island Cruises.

The boat was sold by BIC to Reef Explorer Limited in 2004, however it has continued to feature in the advertised activities run through the BIC Group up until that company suspended trading at the start of the week.

Despite BIC suspending its business, the owners of the glass-bottom boat said this week it is business as usual for their boat trips.

Michael Gladwin, CEO of Reef Explorer Ltd., said the company was "in full operation and has no connection with the recent closure of the BIC Group of Companies".

He added: "We have operated as a separate and distinct entity for at least three years and hope to serve the water tour business in Bermuda for many years to come."
