BSX has $3.5m week

Shares worth $3.5 million were traded on the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange last week, resulting in a minor shift for the Index as it lost 1.288 points (0.03 percent).

Inusrance companies were the only ones to make or lose ground over the four-day week, with Argus Group improving the value of its stock by 25 cents (1.67 percent) to $15.25 after 16,900 were exchanged.

Shares of BF&M lost 75 cents (3.9 percent) after 2,000 were traded to close at $18.50.

During the shortened trading week, because of the closure of the BSX last Monday's to mark the Queen's official birthday, there was relatively little activity.

Butterfield Bank stock saw 53,213 traded, and there was buying and selling of 1,100 shares in Bermuda Commercial Bank and 3,000 shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings). But there was no chance to the closing prices of any of those stocks.

The total volume of shares traded on the index during the week was 76,213, worth $3,540,380.
