Covidien listing approved by BSX

Covidien Ltd. is set to join the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) after its listing of common shares were approved by the Listing Committee yesterday.

The former Tyco Healthcare section of Tyco is a global leader in developing, manufacturing and distributing medical devices and supplies, diagnostic imaging agents, pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products for use in clinical and home settings, and its listing will come into effect as of Sunday July 15. Tyco, based in Hamilton and with operating headquarters in West Windsor, New Jersey, was split up into three publicly traded companies, Tyco Healthcare, Tyco International and Tyco Electronics earlier this month in an effort to reshape the company.

Its products are found in almost every hospital in the US and it has a significant and growing presence in non-US markets.

Its portfolio of products, sold under well-known brand names such as United States Surgical, Autosuture, Valleylab, Mallinckrodt, Nellcor, Puritan Bennett and Kendall, serve healthcare needs in the operating room and other hospital settings, long-term care and other alternate care facilities, doctors' offices and the home.

Reid Listing Services Ltd. sponsored the listing.
