Bank hits year high
Butterfield Bank's share price on the Bermuda Stock Exchange closed to within a point of its all-time high and equalled its 52-week record yesterday.
Its shares rose by 50 cents (0.8 percent) to finish on $61.50 after trading 2,800 shares.
The only other company to see any activity was Argus Group Holdings Ltd., which also experienced an upturn as their shares climbed to $15.50, representing an increase of 25 cents (1.6 percent). 751 shares were traded.
At the request of MediaHouse Ltd., the BSX has granted a final extension for the filing of the annual report until Friday, August 3.
This extension was requested by the company, due to certain accounting policy changes that have contributed to the delay.
Overall the Index finished on 5,187.80, a rise of 35.31 points (0.69 percent), with a total of 3,551 shares traded.
The BSX Insurance Index also enjoyed a good day, climbing 5.55 points (0.1 percent) to close at 1,336.45.
