BSX hits new high

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index reached an all-time high yesterday.The Index soared to 5,214.44, rising by 26.65 points, beating its previous record of 5,188.66 and representing a change of 0.51 percent.Butterfield Bank was the only listed company to register a change in share value, with the price increasing by 50 cents (0.8 percent) to close on a 52-week high of $62.

A total of 3,554 shares were traded, with a turnover of $220,126.40.
In contrast the BSX Insurance Index slumped by 3.53 points (0.26 percent) to finish at 1,332.92.
