LONDON — Britain's FTSE 100 index fell, as Lonmin cut its full-year sales forecast, knocking miners off their feet, while heavyweight Royal Dutch Shell suffered a downgrade. The FTSE 100 closed at 6,697.7 points, down 19 or 0.28 percent.ROUNDUP:EUROFIRSTEUROPE — European shares rose for a third trading day in a row, securing their highest close since mid-November 2000, aided by a rally in financial stocks as the takeover battle for ABN AMRO heated up. Bank stocks were the top sector in Europe, led by ABN AMRO, which staged its largest one-day rally in three months after the consortium headed by Royal Bank of Scotland sweetened its offer for the Dutch bank.
