Another BSX record
The Bermuda Stock Exchange/Royal Gazette Index (BSX) continued to break more records as it recorded its second all-time high in successive days yesterday.
The Index climbed 9.34 points (0.18 percent) to peak at 5,223.78 to complete a successful day which saw 17,112 shares traded and a turnover of $573,646.50.
Only two companies experienced any change in their share price, with Belco Holdings Ltd. shares increasing in value by $1.45 (7.2 percent) from $20.25 to $21.70, with 100 shares changing hands.
Argus Group Holdings Ltd., however, saw a downturn in trading as their shares slumped by 50 cents (3.2 percent) from $15.50 to $15.
The BSX Insurance Index was, however, dealt a blow, with the loss of 0.88 points (0.10 percent) to close on 1,332.04. Reinsurer IPC Holdings Ltd., which yesterday warned investors its second-quarter profits would be hit by the June floods in Australia and the UK, lost $2.21 (6.8 percent) in US trading to close on $29.90.
