BA launches seat sale

British Airways (BA) have launched a summer seat sale of $329 for a one way ticket from Bermuda to London. Roundtrip midweek fares are $658 when booking seven days in advance and will be valid for sale until September 5.

But the true cost of the ticket is actually $929.01 after taxes and other fares of $271.01 are added. Meanwhile competitor Zoom comes in at $292.01 cheaper for a roundtrip midweek fare over a similar period. Interestingly, however, Zoom's taxes and other fees are almost $8 higher than BA's, with the initial pre-tax cost standing at $358.

BA is operating a daily service throughout the summer with its Boeing 777.

Marianne Wilcox, customer service manager for BA Bermuda, said: "We know many residents are hoping to travel to the UK this summer. Roundtrip midweek fares at $658 must be booked and purchased seven days in advance and will be valid for sale until September 5.

"Weekend surcharge (Thursday to Sunday) applies at $30 each way and there are additional government taxes and fees. The last departure day will be September 30. There is a minimum stay of Saturday night and maximum stay of 11 months.

"This ticket is non-refundable and other restrictions apply." For further details, visit www.ba.com.
