Good week for banks

The banks proved to be the biggest movers and shakers on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week.
Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. enjoyed a 6.98 percent (75 cents) increase in its share value, closing at $11.50, as 2,500 shares were traded.
Butterfield Bank also saw a good return, gaining $3 (4.92 percent) on its share price, which closed at $64. 35,784 shares changed hands.
Going the other way, BF&M Ltd lost 4.7 percent (90 cents) off their share value to close at $18.25 for the week, with 5,260 shares traded.
Devonshire Industries Ltd. also saw a slump in their share price, losing 25 cents (1.79 percent) to close at $13.75.
The BSX Insurance Index ended on 1,268.99 after a successful week's trading.
