Conyers makes four new additions

Conyers Dill & Pearman has announced the addition of three new employees to its Bermuda corporate practice and the appointment of a new head of Codan Management Ltd.

Associates Robert Alexander, Victor Richards and Claire McConway have joined the Bermuda operation and Michael Swain will take charge of Codan Management.

Mr. Alexander, who is a Bermudian, attended Imberhorne School in East Grinstead before obtaining a 1st Class Honours Degree from Durham University in England.

He completed the Common Professional Examination and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, and is admitted as a solicitor in the UK.

Prior to joining Conyers, Mr. Alexander practiced as an associate in the Corporate Tax Department of Lovells LLP in London, where his practice covered the tax aspects of all types of corporate and banking transactions.

Mr. Richards, also a Bermudian, has returned home to Bermuda after qualifying as a solicitor in 2006 in England and Wales, to practice within Conyers' corporate department.

He joins the firm from Reed Smith LLP in London, having previously completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law and obtained an MA in Legal Studies from the University of Bristol, England.

Ms McConway's practice includes public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investment, corporate finance, securities offerings, investment funds and the corporate aspects of Islamic finance. She joins Conyers from the London office of King & Spalding LLP and holds an LLB in Law and French from Trinity College in Dublin.

Mr. Swain was previously chief financial officer of Novus Management Ltd, a financial management and consultancy firm, where he was responsible for company formations and management of re/insurance contracts and transactions. He is a Chartered Accountant and was admitted as an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 1986.
