Former Premier Sir John Swan is one of Bermuda's most successful entrepreneurs and well known real estate developers.

Former Premier Sir John Swan is one of Bermuda's most successful entrepreneurs and well known real estate developers.

Serving as Premier from January 1982 to August 1995, his business success began in 1962 when he founded John W Swan Ltd, a real estate development and savings and loan company.

Sir John made his mark in office for overseeing the Island's development as an international financial services centre and the signing of the USA-Bermuda Tax Convention Act in 1986.

He has also served as chairman of the Bermuda Hospitals Board, director of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, director of the Bermuda Employers Council and was a founding member of the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
