The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 8.18 points or 0.30 percent yesterday to close at 2,733.53. A total of 1,240 shares worth $30,561 were traded.

The only bank stock to trade was the Bank of Butterfield which gained 50 cents or 1.5 percent to close at $34.50 on volume of 240 shares.

The only other stock to trade for the day was Argus Insurance Company Ltd. which fell 45 cents or 2 percent to close at $22.55 on volume of 1,000 shares.
