Belco shares drop

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index yesterday fell 15.07 points to close at 2,525.40 after utility stocks Belco Holdings and KeyTech fell.

Belco shares fell $2.50 or 7.1 percent to $32.50 on volume of 5,000 shares while KeyTech - the parent company of BTC, BTC Mobility and Logic Communications - fell 25 cents to $9.75 on trading of 3,200 shares. Its preferred shares also fell, by $1, to $10 on volume of 900.

The Bank of Butterfield traded 14,000 shares while its share price remained unchanged at $34.50.

BF&M traded 5,000 shares and its stock price gained five cents to close at $10.05.
