Bermuda Bakery jumps 48.9 percent

Stock in The Bermuda Bakery rocketed 48.9 percent higher yesterday to reach a 52 week high. The stock, which last traded on January 30, was up $11.50 to close at $35 on volume of 3,000 shares.
Despite this move, a weak banking sector dragged The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index lower, dropping 28.59 points or 1.22 percent to close at 2,320.16.
In the banking sector, the Bank of Bermuda remained unchanged at $36 on volume of 1,377. The Bank of Butterfield, however, fell $1.45 or 4.6 percent to close at $30.05 on volume of 1,020 shares.
The only other activity was limited trading in KeyTech stock which remained unchanged at $35.75.
