The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index yesterday gained 5.48 points to close at 3,174.14.

BF&M shares gained $1 to $14 on trading of 600 shares while Devonshire Industries - the parent company of Bermuda Paint - edged up five cents to $11.50 on volume of 3,200 shares.

Belco Holdings offset the gains as it saw 1,000 of its shares move down 70 cents to $41.80.
