BSX continues to set new records
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index reached another all-time high on Friday, gaining 125.239 points or 2.9 percent to close the week at 4,320.35.
For the year to date, the Index has been on a tear, rising 436.27 points or 11.2 percent since December 31, 2005.
Butterfield Bank has been the main driver of the Index, rising $8.40 or 18 percent since the beginning of the year. Last week, it rose $2.50 to close at $55 as investors traded 56,716 shares.
Belco gained 90 cents to close at $39.90 as 745 shares changed hands and Argus rose 15 cents to close at $12.90, just off its 52-week high of $13, on volume of 300 shares.
KeyTech Limited was the only issue to decline as it lost 50 cents to close at $12.50 on volume of 745 shares.
Devonshire Industries traded in 200 shares to remain unchanged at $14.95 on volume of 200 shares and BF&M investors traded in 5,400 shares to remain unchanged at $18.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $3,133,554.55 and the overall volume of shares was 64,570.
