BSX dips by 35 points
The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index declined 35 points yesterday to end the week almost exactly where it had started it.
Three issues traded and they all closed lower yesterday. Butterfield Bank Ltd. closed 25 cents (0.4 percent) down to close on $56.50, as 2,717 shares traded. Argus Holdings Ltd. dipped by 50 cents (3.4 percent) to $14 on trading of 700 shares. And Belco Holdings Ltd. closed on $22.75 ? 25 cents (1.1 percent) lower, as 300 shares traded.
The Index closed down 35.24 points (0.72 percent) at 4,881.74. Volume was 3,717 shares traded and turnover was $170,165.
Over the week, the Index rose by 0.078 of a point. Volume of shares traded over the five days was 27,996, worth $565,106.50.
The week's biggest climber was LOM (Holdings) Ltd., which closed up 23.21 percent (65 cents) at $3.45, followed by Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd., which rose 8.33 percent to $9.75, as 10,000 of its shares changed hands.
Belco was the only other issue to advance over the week, gaining 75 cents (3.41 percent) on trading of 2,430 shares.
