The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 7.22 points yesterday to close at 4,862.92.

On a light day of trading on the Exchange, Butterfield Bank rose 25 cents to close at $56.75 as investors traded in 1,596 shares.

Bermuda Commercial Bank fell 50 cents to close at $7.80 on volume of 2,000 shares and Bermuda Aviation Services fell 25 cents to close at $6.25.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $110,442.75 and the overall volume of shares traded was 4,296.
