BSX Index hits record high during week
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 40.067 points or 1.01 percent last week to close at 3,979.76 after hitting its all-time high on Thursday.
During a week of active trading Butterfield Bank rose $1.30 to close at $48 as investors traded in 64,826 shares.
On Thursday the BSX bellwether jumped to its all-time high of $50, before dropping $2 on Friday.
Belco Holdings fell $1.25 to close at $39 as 2,800 shares changed hands and Bermuda Press (Holdings), the owner of TheRoyal Gazette, fell 75 cents to close at $13.25 on volume of 4,486 shares.
Bermuda Commercial Bank declined 25 cents to close at $8.25 as investors traded in 100 shares and Argus Group Holdings also fell 25 cents to close at $12.75 on volume of 600 shares.
While no other issues changed price, 1,000 LOM shares changed hands to remain unchanged at $3.
Bermuda Aviation Services, which on Friday announced a rights offer, traded in 5,100 shares to remain unchanged at $7.50.
KeyTech Limited remained unchanged at $13 as 5,350 shares changed hands.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $3,342,389.30 and the overall volume of shares was 84,262.
The Bermuda Insurance Index, which tracks stocks of publicly listed Bermuda-based insurers, rose 4.63 points or 0.41 percent to close at 1,123.46 for the week.
