The Royal Gazette./Bermuda Stock Exchange index closed unchanged yesterday as bidders and sellers disagreed widely on the valuations of local stocks.
The Index held at 4,837.22 on volume of 5,321 shares worth $299,463.50.
Butterfield Bank dominated trading, with 5,294 shares trading at $56.50 while Argus also held at $13 on volume of just 27 shares.
Bidding for shares was pitched much lower than asking prices, with a bid in for Bermuda Commercial Bank at $8 compared to an asking price of $9.50, West Hamilton seeing a bid of $40 and an ask of $60, Devonshire Industries had an ask of $14.50 compared to a bid of just $9 and in utilities, Belco had a bid for $21.70 and an ask of $24.50.
