BSX slips as KeyTech drops

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 4.15 points yesterday to close at 3,885.96.Telecommunications group KeyTech Ltd. fell $1 off its 52-week high to close at $12 on volume of 500 shares to drive the Index down.That offset a gain by Argus Group, which rose 50 cents to close at $12 on volume of 1,000. Butterfield Bank was unchanged at $46.55, its all time high, on volume of 27,879 shares.

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 4.15 points yesterday to close at 3,885.96.

Telecommunications group KeyTech Ltd. fell $1 off its 52-week high to close at $12 on volume of 500 shares to drive the Index down.

That offset a gain by Argus Group, which rose 50 cents to close at $12 on volume of 1,000. Butterfield Bank was unchanged at $46.55, its all time high, on volume of 27,879 shares.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $1,315,782.45 and the overall volume of shares was 29.379.

Bermuda-based international insurers were mixed, with Montpelier Re improving 1.79 percent to close at $17.62, PXRE gaining 1.43 percent to $12.75 and White Mountains up 1.09 percent to $594.40.

But troubled insurer Quanta slumped 4.41 percent to $4.77, Scottish Re was off 2.24 percent to $24.92 and Aspen was down 1.68 percent to $23.40.
