The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index rose 110.53 points to close at 3,487.77, driven by the sale of 40,044 Butterfield Bank shares. Butterfield Bank closed $2.50 higher at $45.

Some 1,300 BF&M shares changed hands to close unchanged at $14 while the only other movement was the sale of 300 Belco Holdings shares, which closed down $0.05 at $41.05.
