Butterfield Bank, Argus and Belco lead Index rise
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index had an up and down week to close at 3,774.66 ? a change in positive territory of 1.01 percent or 38.150 points.
Butterfield Bank closed the week at $45.50, a gain of 50 cents on volume of 7,787 shares after rising to $45.50 on Tuesday.
The biggest gain last week was Argus Insurance Company Ltd. up 75 cents, or 2.86 percent, on volume of 3,645 shares to close at $27.
Belco Holdings Ltd. gained 50 cents, or 1.26 percent, on volume of 2,500 shares to close at $40.25 and BF&M Ltd. rose 25 cents or 1.54 percent on volume of 1,500 shares to close at $16.50.
Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. declined 50 cents, or 5.56 percent, on volume of 400 shares to close at $8.50.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $601,693.75 and the overall volume of shares was 17,232.
